News & Updates
November 18th 2018- Construction is still underway here at AHT, we're still working on transferring all of the reviews over and getting them all cleaned up. The All Time Results section is 100% finished with results from everything from Tri States Wrestling Alliance up to the last ECW show in 2001. We're about 50% done with the Hardcore TV Episode Guide. We have finished transferring all the reviews and articles for 1993-1994(once we get to a certain point I'm looking forward to going back and adding more reviews for this period so stay tuned!) and will begin moving the 1995 reviews over soon. Until then we have uploaded a scan of the ECW merch catalog to our Memorabilia section so click on over and check it out!
November 16th 2018- As freezing cold winter weather settles in across most of the US this week we here at AHT warms things up a little bit by taking a look back at ECW Heatwave 94, a show from the last days of EASTERN Championship Wrestling and one of the final ECW shows under the NWA banner, featuring Sabu vs Shane Douglas in a "Fight For the Future Of ECW" and the legendary Funk Brothers going toe to toe with Public Enemy in a Barbed Wire Match that got a bit out of hand. Check out our review of Heatwave 94 here!
November 14th 2018- AHT celebrates the 25 year anniversary of the very first ever ECW November To Remember event this week with an upload of the rare event program scan in our Memorabilia section. This was a monumental show for the promotion, held at the ECW Arena on November 13th 1993(just 1 day after UFC 1) it was maybe an underrated show in the lore of ECW since it was really their first true sellout for the arena. An at the time record crowd of 1,492 packed into the Bingo Hall on Swanson & Rittner in South Philly that November night to see ECW World Champion Sabu team with Road Warrior Hawk to take on ECW TV Champ Terry Funk and a mystery partner that turned out to be King Kong Bundy. Check out the full results for the card in our All Time Results page and definitely check out this awesome piece of ECW history in the Memorabilia section!
November 13th 2018- AHT returns after yet another 2 year hiatus with a few minor edits and the addition of an article about the final days of ECW with Eddie Gilbert as well as a review for Ultraclash 93, the first ECW show with Paul Heyman as head booker. Still a ton of work to be done here but hopefully I can get to posting reviews and articles on a more regular basis so bookmark us and check back often as we continue our uphill climb to become the ULTIMATE resource for ECW history!
May 7th 2017- American Hardcore Theatre is back online after a nearly 2 year hiatus. Work has been put in on the format for posting all the reviews and features, the first article about the roots of ECW in Tri States Wrestling Alliance has been updated with new a few new pictures and videos featuring Owen Hart vs Takayuki Iizuka and Eddie Gilbert vs Cactus Jack in a Barbed Wire Match as well as complete live show results for Joel Goodhart's precursor to ECW from 1989 to 1991. This site needs a ton of work so we're just going to continue to grind to get everything going. A bunch of these pages still have the stock image of cowboy boots but the live show results are complete in the All Time Results. Title Histories are a work in progress as the coding is all jacked up and looks like shit. Inside the Numbers has some ratings and attendance info up, everything else is under construction at the moment. Just like Terry Funk said on the very first episode of ECW Hardcore TV in 1993, just stick with us and we'll get better. Book mark us and check back soon!
It's Alive!
Welcome to American Hardcore Theatre. This project has been put together by an ECW fan with the hopes of preserving and celebrating the history of the crazy little bingo hall wrestling league on the corner of Swanson and Rittner streets in South Philly. This is just the beginning. There is so much work ahead of us but the ultimate goal is to make this THE place to go for ECW information, completely fortified with everything you ever wanted to know about ECW all under one roof, plus reviews, feature articles, interviews, and a whole lot more. Everything here is just now beginning and is still a work in progress so stay tuned!
