The American Hardcore Theatre project started on a couple of different pro wrestling message boards, originally posted on Wrestlezone forums later moved to the Pro Wrestling.com message boards where it really took off thanks to the support of quite a few ECW fans that found their way over there. I would make my way through ECW history reviewing select shows and writing accompanying articles about what was going on behind the scenes and elsewhere in the pro wrestling business for context's sake. I started with the earliest ECW shows I could find, skipping most of 1993 and 1994(since I didn't have many of those shows in my possession at the time), and mostly concentrating on 1995 and 1996. I got up to Barely Legal and Wrestlepalooza 97 before dropping off the grid. I'm working now to transfer all of these reviews and articles to this website. Keep in mind while reading these that they were written for a message board and not really intended to be fancy or anything for a blog. Also keep in mind that these earlier reviews and articles were written at a time when I didn't know much about wrestling or writing, I was coming off of an 11 year period where I never watched, read, or wrote about pro wrestling when I started American Hardcore Theatre, and I had never really written much to begin with so I was pretty green all around. I loved ECW when I was a teenager and really enjoyed diving into all the shows and tapes that I never could afford back then, American Hardcore Theatre is ECW's real history. Most of the information in these reviews comes from books like Turning Tables and Hardcore History, as well as issues of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and various pro wrestling magazines that I lived on when I was a kid.
